Koostik

If you like the raw, unplugged sound of acoustic music, how about ramping up the volume of your iPhone with a set of speakers that can also deliver music in a similar fashion?

The marriage of engineering acoustics & Apple’s iPhone technology has given birth to the first, non-powered, iPhone docking station called, the 'Koostik.’ With no electricity needed, the ‘Koostik’ is a handmade wooden speaker system that forgoes the use of power and instead uses its material & form to take the sound of your iPhone to new, energy free heights. Check it out:

At first glance, the ‘Koostik’ resembles the shape of other iPhone docking stations, but unlike its carbon heavy peers, the ‘Koostik’ is hand-crafted entirely from wood. Brilliantly designed, the wooden speaker box works with the same basic principle of an acoustic guitar; using a hollow body device to amplify the sound which is ported from the iPhone's internal speaker.

technology meets nature
two-toned perfection
clean finish.

The ‘Koostik’ can be ordered in a few of different color-ways based on the wood types & combinations. Each product is handmade & unique (varying slightly with wood grains & stain colors). The ‘Koostik’ rings in around $90 & its smaller counterpart the ‘Mini Koo’ can be acquired for $70. Hit the source link below to place your order or find out more:

i don't wanna care right now

After dropping a ridiculous mixtape on Thanksgiving, then accumulating Grammy nominations for “Best Rap Performance,” “Best Rap Song,” & “Best Rap Album,” Lupe Fiasco releases the video for 'I Don’t Wanna Care Right Now (featuring MDMA),' off his latest album 'Lasers:'

michael francis

.. being in an earshot of his music can draw comparisons to 'The Weekndor 'JMSN':

I've had the privledge to get a pre-release sample of, "Cold Heart Chronicles," the debut project from a new artist who goes by the name of Michael Francis. The project set to be released later this month and is chalk full of smooth rhymes & serenades. Michael Francis has been making waves as of late with his leaked singles & today proves no different.

'Cold Heart Chronicles' proves to provide just that, eleven emotionally charged tracks.  With his fourth release on deck, he teams up with fellow New Jersey producer, 'Cito On The Beats,' for an eloquent ballad entitled "Woman." Check out the deep-silky sounds of he previous singles, 'Make Love' & 'Running Through Your Mind,' which are composed by the up & coming producer, 'The University.' Enjoy.

Canby / Pendleton

.. created from earth's raw materials; come amazing final products:

Shwood has joined forces with fellow Oregon-based company Pendleton Woolen Mills and has crafted up some of the most detailed, wooden sunglasses on the planet.  The limited edition run of Shwood’s “Canby” frames are carved from Oregon-grown cherry wood.  The frames feature laser engraved arms that are embellished with Pendleton’s iconic “Chief Joseph” pattern. Taking the collaboration a step further, Pendleton manufactured a matching carrying pouch woven from a limited batch of wool, exclusive to the project. With both companies dedicated to domestic manufacturing, the project pays tribute to the state of Oregon & the heritage manufacturing techniques that make the products great. Look out for these:

The limited edition Shwood Canby / Pedleton frames will run you for a cool $210, but in my opinion, are worth it for such a nice pair of high-quality shades. Check out more from Shwood on the link below:

Politics, Justice & Ellie Goulding.

.. through music, artists preach ..

It has been something that has gone on for generations now, and with the latest offering from the highly acclaimed Chi-town rapper, Lupe Fiasco, provides just that. In recent months, Lupe Fiasco has been outspoken about a variety of issues that are plaguing the world, and most notably, the United States. 'Friend of the People,' goes deeper into these topics, touching on issues ranging from politics to Wall Street, justice & war.  Through each line, each verse, and each song, Lupe uses his wordsmith wizardry to employ metaphors, similes, & social consciousness with his rhymes. In typical fashion, he chose to lay down this material over an eclectic range of catchy beats, taking samples from artists like Ellie Goulding, Justice, Skrillex & M83. TikTok+LunaTik

After the Steve Jobs unveiled the 6th generation multi-touch iPod Nano, it only became a matter of time before a company would jump on the bandwagon to develop straps & bands to create a high-tech, time piece.

For years, watch companies have been trying to create interchangeable watch faces that provide a stylish-aesthetically pleasing design, while having the ability to be changed or manipulated, all at a fair price point. Enter, MNML, an innovative start-up company which creates iconic, disruptive, & brand building products. With the advancement of technology, innovation by Apple, MNML has gone ahead and created a unique secondary market for iPod Nano watches. The company has designed two distinct watch bands, TikTok & LunaTik which seemingly leverage that same inspiration & attention to detail that has made Apple a stand out, premium product.
See what they're all about:

The TikTok is a simple snap-in design that allows the user to quickly & securely snap the iPod Nano in & out of the wrist dock. The LunaTik on the other hand, is a premium-permanent conversion kit designed for those wanting to dedicate their Nano primarily as a wrist watch. Additionally, MNML has recently created a high-quality, metal band called the Lynk. The Lynk is available two tones, black & silver, and features an anodized aluminum band with a full butterfly clasp, that is a solid, yet substantial upgraded from the TikTok’s silicone strap. Check out some of MNML’s products below, prices range anywhere from $39.95-$139.95 respectively:
